Quality Team Leader

**Overview**:
Directly engages with and provides direction to the Quality Engineering team. Ensures that shopfloor quality assurance activities are in accordance with MSSC standards and procedures. In conjunction with the APQP coordinator ensures that milestones are being met for new program launches, engineering changes etc. Takes on overflow work for QE level as needed.
**Principle Responsibilities/ Accountabilities**
- Promotes a culture of quality throughout the department.
- Understands the Companies and the Customers requirements and provides direction to the Quality Engineering team to achieve meeting such requirements.
- Ensures that quality control procedures and standards are implemented during every step of the production process.
- Monitors and assesses trends in product and process performance and makes recommendations for improvements as needed.
- In collaboration with the Quality Manager effectively communicates team goals and develops strategies for success.
- Assigns tasks, delegates work, and monitors workload for the team.
- Assists the team with task completion as needed to ensure on time completion.
- Participates in cross functional APQP meetings and develops a sound understanding of program milestones.
- Evaluates team performance and provides recommendations for training opportunities.
- Assists with monthly KPI reporting. (ex. PPM, Customer Complaint rate, etc)
Performs other duties/ tasks as directed by management.
**Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities**:
+ Experience with ISO 9001, IATF 16949 Standards
+ IMDS Experience would be an asset.
+ SPC Experience would be an asset.
+ Attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
+ Working knowledge of the Automotive Manufacturing Industry.
+ Strong problem solving, and time management skills.
+ Ability to work collaboratively with a team, delegate work appropriately, and make decisions in a timely manner.
+ Demonstrate emotional intelligence, integrity, and respectfulness.
+ Have strong communication and organizational skills.
+ Ability to keep work area neat and clean and eliminate potential hazards.
+ Ability to conform to company policies/ procedures and OSHA standards with the goal of zero safety related incidents.
