About the job **You will**: - Plan and carry out research and analysis to conceptualize inferences regarding the extent and scope of criminal influence in the province - Conduct scans of organized and serious crime activity from a range of sources - Prepare a range of policy/research reports, issues notes, presentations and submissions to provide organized and serious crime activities - Contribute to the evaluation of existing law enforcement strategies and make recommendations to support management decisions with regard to strategic policy development - Develop data collection processes, methods and strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality - Develop and maintain contacts with law enforcement and investigative agencies at municipal, First Nations, provincial, federal and international levels What you bring to the team **Technical Knowledge**:You have**: - knowledge of policy development, government decision-making processes and program evaluation and analytical techniques to provide recommendations related to strategic and operational planning - knowledge of provincial key objectives pertaining to organized and serious crime, relevant legislation, case law, operational/cross-jurisdictional intelligence, foreign affairs, criminology, organized crime structure and critical issues impacting community safety **Knowledge**: - You have critical thinking skills and creativity to filter, synthesize and translate a range of diverse data into meaningful dashboards and statistical models - You can recognize abstract patterns and relationships between apparently unrelated entities or situations - You have operational procedures and programs for classified material handling and security clearance requirements to safeguard security and public safety **Communication and Interpersonal Skills**:You have**: - oral communication skills to network with a range of interlocking intelligence operations, participate in consultation processes and represent the ministry in speaking seminars - written communication skills to draft policy papers, reports, analyses, correspondence, briefing notes and materials for cabinet submissions - presentation skills to present strategic assessment findings and make recommendations - consultation and networking skills to coordinate cross-jurisdictional law enforcement and criminal intelligence agencies, to exchange information, examine issues and support coordinated intelligence operations **Analytical, Research and Problem-Solving Skills**: - You have research and analytical techniques, including trend analyses and quantitative/qualitative research from multiple sources to perform an integrated range off analyses - You can analyze and integrate multiple sources of criminal intelligence information to predict organized crime capabilities - You can review, assess and summarize intelligence-stakeholder input to incorporate into proposed solutions and recommendations **Computer Skills**:You have**: Don't meet every qualification?
