Maintenance Associate

The Maintenance Associate is responsible for the upkeep of buildings and all mechanical systems, such as but not limited to heating, cooling, humidification, electrical, plumbing, painting and grounds-keeping. The day-to-day job duties of our maintenance workers depend largely on the systems which they maintain and prescribed maintenance schedules.

To be successful, the Maintenance Associate must be able to work with our TEAM Values by being a team player, bringing excellence to both the technical aspects and internal customer service aspects of the role, be highly accountable and finding meaning in supporting our team’s growth & the development of our national brand.

Key Success Factors:

- Be able to perform reasonable technical tasks correctly after receiving appropriate training, tools & support.

- Be able to achieve targets for fix ticket closure
- Be able to maintain room turnover schedules

**Responsibilities**:

- Work as a member of the maintenance team within the broader Muskoka Grown team to help meet team goals.
- Work with the maintenance team to ensure the facility delivers operational requirements to people, plants & product.
- Collaborate with team members to find efficient and effective solutions.
- Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
- Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Report all mechanical defects & shortfalls to Management.
- Make self available to work scheduled ‘On Call” duties as may be required from time to time.

- Using a Maintenance Ticketing System, be able to raise work requests, assess work order, identify parts, labour, external services, total cost; The cost will be reviewed with the Facility Manager, Operations Director and/or GM before parts are ordered. Schedule work. Ensure that fix tickets & responses are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Report all errors, accidents, incidents & near misses thoroughly and promptly.
- Be honest about mistakes & failures, so we can work as a team to improve
- Communicate production issues that have potential to affect quality or schedule compliance to appropriate Manager
- Attend work on time as scheduled
- Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on all components of HVAC systems including but not limited too; Chillers ( Multi chiller units), Boilers, motors, filters (both liquid & air), belts, intake and exhaust air systems and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Identify problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
- Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, power tools, meters, levels and straightedges.
- Supply accurate equipment information to secure fabricated and specialty repair parts at local machine shops or one of vendors.
- Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders, verifying receipts.
