**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Set up station according to restaurant and/or banquet guidelines.
- Prepare all mise en place as directed in a safe, sanitary and timely fashion.
- Follow recipe standards, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the Chef in order to maintain cost controls.
- Ensure consistency with presentation and high standard of food quality.
- Ability to produce food with speed and efficiency daily, ensuring tasks are finished.
- Restock and ensure the highest quality of all food products as needed throughout your shift
- Understanding, knowledge of how to properly and safely use and maintain all equipment in the kitchen.
- Communicate any faulty equipment to Sous Chef or Lead Cook.
- Assist with cleaning, sanitation, and the organization of kitchen at all times, ensuring a safe and healthy working environment.
- Assist with monitoring of buffets - set up, monitoring and take down
- Perform any additional responsibilities as communicated by the Sous Chef or Lead Cook
**Required Education, Skills and Qualifications**
**QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE**
- Minimum 1 year of practical experience in a kitchen or culinary students with internship experience.
- Solid understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
- Must be able to display knowledge of culinary techniques, cutting, cooking principles, plate presentation, safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to execute duties in variety of cooking duties -ala carte and banquets.
- Display a positive can do attitude, willing to adapt and be ready to assist others
- Able to communicate in clear concise manner
- Able to read recipes and follow their instructions as laid out.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and handling procedures.
- Ability to physically handle kitchenware and display items, stand for extended periods, bend and/or lift items up to 50 lbs in kitchen environment.
- Competent with properly using and handling of the various kitchen related machinery.
