**Term of Appt**: Monday - Friday, 7 hours per day (until return of incumbent)

**Reporting to**: Campus Administrator

**Salary**:
Classification 9, $23.85 - 24.59/hr, as per the BCGEU Support Collective Agreement. Temporary employees will receive an additional $0.50/hr. in lieu of benefits and 6% vacation pay included with each pay period.

**Description**:
We are currently in need of a temporary, full time cafeteria cook to provide services to our Fort St John campus. Our Cafeteria Cook works independently, to prepare and cook a variety of meals and to assist with menu planning/catered events on campus. This position will involve short order cooking, food preparation, baking, assistance with catering and ensuring that Food Safe regulations are practiced. This position is integral to the creation of exceptional student experience at NLC and requires a keen interest in providing a variety of healthy and appealing food choices for students, staff, and the public.

The position will begin immediately, and will be in place until the return of our current incumbent.

**Qualifications:
**Professional Cook Training, Level 3 preferred. Food Safe is required. Experience with short order cooking (including operation of grill, broiler, deep fryer, ovens, toaster, etc.), nutritious meal and snack preparation and baking are all requirements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must. Experience preparing ethnic or traditional cultural and indigenous foods and incorporating locally, or regionally sourced ingredients is desired.
