**Job Description**:
The automation technician carries out several tasks related to his participation in supporting automation projects, including installation, start-up, as well as management of service requests from customers.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Proceed with the installation of control panels and various components at customers' premises;
- Participate when required in the assembly and electrical connection of equipment at customers' premises;
- Participate in the execution of various commissioning tests;
- Occasionally provide after-sales support (troubleshooting, maintenance, adjustments and troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, etc.);
- Respond to emergency and/or technical support calls by telephone (occasionally outside normal working hours) and resolve any problems raised if necessary;
- All other related tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- DEC in electrical engineering (industrial electronics technology) or AEC in industrial automation and instrumentation or DEP in electromechanics of automated systems;
- Have three to five years of relevant experience;
- Any other combination of education and experience may be considered;
- Knowledge of PLC programming in languages like Ladder, Grafcet, Structured text on the most popular brands like Allen-Bradley, Omron, Schneider, etcand in the development of operator interfaces (an asset);
- Networking knowledge;
- Functional knowledge of English;
- Good knowledge of control and automation, electricity and/or electronics;
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety rules as well as standards surrounding machine safety;
- Excellent command of reading plans, specifications and electrical diagrams;
- Be able to set priorities and deal with tight deadlines;
- Good team spirit, attention to detail, thoroughness, autonomy, resistance to stress, etc;
- Be able to diagnose and resolve various problems;
- Skills in communications and contacts with customers;
- Frequent travel to clients;
- Required to travel occasionally outside the province (Canada and United States).
