The Moon Under Water Brew Pub & Distillery is hiring a full-time Busser. Applications must include a cover letter and 2 references. - Applications without a cover letter including 2 references will not be considered._ The position is for the full-time bussing position. The position is paid at **$18 per hour**. Servers tip out the busser at 1% of their sales for the evening. **Tips are between $20 and $40 per shift**. Bussers receive **one complimentary meal **per shift from the kitchen. Serving It Right is required for the role. **Duties included are**: - Having full and complete knowledge of our 15 beers on tap and 10 spirit offerings that we make on site. - Being able to relay beer and spirit tasting notes, food pairing recommendations, Moon Under Water history, and more. - Pouring beer **(Serving It Right is required)** - Working community events such as Burger & Beer Fundraisers, etc. - Being able to lift 130 pound kegs. - Interacting with guests in an outgoing, kind, warm, and inviting way. Ensuring guests come back because of the incredible customer experience. - Greeting customers as they walk through the door with a big, outgoing, friendly smile and - **"Hi how are you doing? Welcome to the Moon Under Water Please take a seat where ever you would like and we'll be right with you".**_ - Positively engaging with customers by asking them where they’re from, why they are visiting the Moon Under Water, and if you can get them anything to better enjoy their meal. - Understanding the flow of service and anticipating what you can do to enhance the customer experience. - Recommending our merchandise sales (T-shirts and hats). - Putting up signage around the Pub for current promotions. - Clearing tables promptly so table turnover time is quick. - Cleaning tables. - Running cutlery through the dish washer in the kitchen. - Cleaning duties - Cleaning washrooms, sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, removing garbage, dusting, windexing, sorting recycling, etc. Other duties as assigned. - **Dress Code**: 1. Black dress shirt, or Moon Under Water branded T-Shirt, or Moon Under Water branded black dress shirt (If you need, we can create a Moon Under Water branded dress shirt for you). 2. Black dress pants/skirt/or dress. Dark denim that is clean cut (no holes) is acceptable. 3. No light denim with rips or holes. 4. Nice non-slip, closed toe shoes. Preferably black. 5. No hats or toques. The position includes **Saturdays and Sundays.** - The position is for **Wednesdays from 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm, Thursdays from 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm, Fridays from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Saturdays from 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm**, **Sundays 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm.** - Other shifts may be required as we book private parties in the Distillery Lounge.**_ **Here's a short intro to the Moon Under Water Brew Pub & Distillery**: We're a local, family owned & operated business. We've been in business since 2012. The Moon Under Water is owned by Anne Farmer-Ash, her husband Steve Ash, and Anne's son Clayton Potter. Clay acquired his skills at the prestigious Heriot-Watt International Centre for Brewing & Distilling in Edinburgh, Scotland, where he earned a Master's Degree in Brewing & Distilling. Clay's previous degree is a Bachelor's of Science in Microbiology and Bio Chemistry from UVic. Our beer is inspired by centuries of European brewing tradition and propelled forward by Canadian passion and creativity. Our German Brewhaus allows us to implement the most challenging brew methods into our processes from step mashes to decoctions. These methods are what give our beer unmatched balance and depth. Moon Under Water Beer is highly awarded at the Canadian Brewing Awards. Potts Pilsner is the most medalled beer at the Canadian Brewing Awards since 2014, winning GOLD in 2021. We opened the Distillery in 2016 where Clay creates delicious craft spirits such as Single Malt Whisky, Gin, Vodka, and specialty liqueurs such as the Moon Shaft Liqueur. We strive to use as many local ingredients as possible.
