Additionally, experience working with Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) clients is an asset

**Qualifications**:

- Current vulnerable sector screening check (screening must indicate no convictions (negative) in order to be hired
- Immunization Record (proof of immunity required in certain workplace settings)
- blood titers must accompany the immunization record
- Proof of current Two Step TB Test
- Influenza Vaccine
- Must have a PSW Certificate and Grade 12 English equivalency
- Valid First Aid and CPR certificate
- Knowledge of household management skills.
- A working knowledge of assistive aides is required.
- Compassionate, respectful and sincere manner with ability to deal with conflict in a diplomatic and professional manner.
- Self-awareness, high emotional intelligence, willingness to partner with residents, families and onsite staff in caring for residents.
- Flexible, adaptable to changing work environment.
- Ability to speak other languages, is an asset.
- Good verbal and written skills.
- Ability to lift 25 kg may be required and perform lifting/bending when required to assist residents.
- Be comfortable running and facilitating programs and social recreation activities
- Valid drivers license and vehicle to travel between clients
- **Arabic speaking is an asset**

**Responsibilities**:

- Provides ADL and IDL assistance to the client
- Assists client with and provides personal care to the client
- Assists with a variety of household tasks to include light meal preparation and light housekeeping assistance
- Prepares nutritious, varied, and economical meals and snacks for the client to include special diets, as determined by the care plan
- Uses proper food preparation, food storage, and overall hygiene practices
- Communicates changes and client updates to supervisors
- Provide personal care to clients as outlined in their care plans.
- Provide companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping (whatever it takes to help the client at home).
- Adhere to providing personal care and help clients with their ADLs that is within the scope of practice for a **Personal Support Worker**:

- Assists clients in all activities of daily living/ hygiene assistance, bathing, grooming, linen changes and so forth.
- Assists clients with transfers, ambulation, and exercises.
- Meets the safety needs of the client and uses equipment safely and properly.
- Functions within the limits of own experience and knowledge, and practices safely and competently within the job description.
- Completes records and documentations accurately and thoroughly

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $16.00-$20.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

COVID-19 considerations:
All our PSWs Are required to follow the Covid 19 protocol as mandaded by the government of Ontario. All PSW are require to follow the PPE guidlines.
