Junior Construction Estimator/construction Estimator

**Job Summary**
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will assist in the preparation of cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness in pricing. You will work closely with project managers and owner to analyze project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to provide comprehensive estimates that align with our company’s goals.

**Responsibilities**
- Assist in the preparation of detailed cost estimates for construction projects using PlanSwift.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to identify key components for accurate estimating.
- Collaborate with project managers to gather necessary information for pricing and negotiation purposes.
- Conduct market research to ensure competitive pricing strategies are implemented.
- Support the negotiation process with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable terms.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, revisions, and communications related to pricing.
- Participate in project management meetings to provide updates on estimating progress and challenges.
- Review blueprints, technical specifications, and other project documents to understand the scope and requirements.
- Create detailed lists of materials, equipment, and labor needed for the project.
- Estimate the prices of materials, labor rates, equipment, and any other associated costs to determine the total project budget.
- Identify potential challenges and risks during the construction process and incorporate them into the cost estimate.
- Provide clients and project managers with a detailed cost breakdown for project budgeting and to submit bids for projects.
- Track actual project expenses and compare them to initial estimates to ensure projects stay within budget.
- Recommend cost-saving measures and alternative materials to improve project efficiency.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with construction estimating software such as Planswift.
- Strong understanding of construction processes and terminology.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills for accurate cost estimation.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Previous experience or internships in construction estimating or project management is preferred.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $24.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 44 per week
