**Purpose**:
The Supervisor, Digital Development role, in collaboration with the Teaching and Learning Department's Curriculum and Course Support Department Supervisor, is responsible for the hiring, training, onboarding and coordination of casual staff in the library. The role oversees support of digital media spaces, computer labs, makerspace. The role also ensures best practices and adopts principles of User Experience (UX) and Universal Design, whenever feasible. In addition, under the direction of the Manager, Digital Scholarship and Computing Services, the role oversees the maintenance of technology in the Markham Library and leads resolving facilities, health and safety and operational issues. This role, in collaboration with the Manager, Digital Scholarship and Computing Services, also carries out staff planning and hiring and scheduling of Digital Support Assistants at Scott Library.

**Education**:
Post-secondary Diploma in a relevant discipline, such as Information Technology, or Information Systems Management.

**Experience**:
3 years related experience.

1 year of management or supervisory experience.

Experience supervising staff, in a unionized environment, providing high levels of customer experience in a high-volume service environment.

Experience in budget planning and forecasting.

**Skills**:
Knowledge

Knowledge of experiential education as it pertains to student paid employment.

Effective knowledge of multimedia technology, including virtual reality, podcasting, and videography.

Knowledge of Library operations management.

Knowledge of workforce planning, budgeting and financial management, process improvement and change management.

Effective analytical, organizational, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to prioritize work activities and resolve problems.

Ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail.

Project management skills.

Proven ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Able to work well independently and with others.

Interpersonal skills to effective deal with sensitive and/or difficult situations.

Proficient with MS Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

- Normal office work environment.
- **Compensation**:
York's CPM Compensation Framework has a salary grid consisting of 6 or 8 steps (depending on job grade) which is reviewed annually with possible adjustments, and a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award. Employees will receive the grid adjustment and depending on performance, eligible permanent employees may move to the next step of the grid and may receive a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award.Visit the CPM Compensation page on the HR Website to find out more about York's CPM Compensation Program.
