**About Canpac Marine Services Inc.**:
Canpac Marine Services Inc., is based in the Port of Vancouver, Canada and has been providing marine services to inland, coastal, and offshore sectors since 1965. Canpac operates a fleet of specialized vessels ranging from 150t to 3000t conducting material delivery and subsea inspection, repair, maintenance and construction of marine assets from surface to 6,000 meters of water depth.

**Job Summary**:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Deckhands and Deckhands with SVMO to join our team. The Deckhand will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the maintenance, operation, and safety of the vessel. This is a hands-on position that requires physical stamina, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn.

**Responsibilities**:
**Vessel Maintenance**:

- Maintain the cleanliness and general upkeep of the vessel, including decks, cabins, and equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as painting, chipping, and greasing.
- Assist with repairs to the vessel and its equipment as directed.
- Maintain ropes, cables, and other deck equipment.

**Deck Operations**:

- Assist with docking and undocking procedures, including handling lines and fenders.
- Load and unload cargo, supplies, and equipment.
- Stand watch and monitor vessel systems.
- Operate deck machinery such as winches, cranes, and capstans (with proper training).
- Assist with navigation, including lookout duties.

**Safety and Security**:

- Participate in safety drills and training exercises.
- Maintain a safe working environment on deck.
- Follow safety procedures and regulations.
- Report any safety hazards or concerns to the Captain or Mate.
- Assist with emergency response as needed.

**Other Duties**:

- Perform other duties as assigned by the Captain or Mate.

**Qualifications**:

- Domestic Vessel Safety Certificate (MED A1)
- No specific experience may be required for entry-level positions, but previous experience in a maritime environment is an asset.
- Basic understanding of vessel operations and safety procedures is preferred.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labor.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks.

**Compensation and Benefits**:

- Day rate $450-$550
- Benefits package, including health insurance, and paid time off
