The City of Port Moody is a growing community of 34,000 residents located 30 minutes east of downtown Vancouver at the head of the Burrard Inlet and just steps from seaside parks, mountain trails and lakes. This position is responsible for performing tasks in the areas of road maintenance and construction, drainage and flooding and also performs grass cutting, traffic control and emergency call-out services.

The Operations Maintenance Worker will perform the following duties: patrol storm inlets; control traffic set up and flagging; install and maintain signs; safe operation of snow plow and snow and ice removal; cut grass and sweep; operate large and small equipment; perform road work; and respond to emergency call-outs as well as other special projects and event work.

**Qualifications**:

- Grade 12 supplemented with minimum one year of labouring experience including machinery operation, truck driving, landscaping, construction, and / or public works
- A valid Class 3 BC driver’s license with air endorsement;
- Experience and training with small equipment such as weed eater, blower, jackhammer, compactor, pumps
- Sufficient physical strength, stamina and coordination to perform manual work outdoors
- Ability to work effectively with co-workers and members of the public

The City of Port Moody is seeking an experienced and hard-working Operations Maintenance Worker. This position is responsible for operating a variety of tools, trucks, and heavy equipment within the Utilities group.

**Responsibilities**:

- Build, operate, maintain and improve public works infrastructure, including water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, and roads and drainage infrastructure
- Respond to public works emergencies affecting the community, occasionally during periods outside regular work hours
- Safely and efficiently operate a variety of tools, trucks, and heavy equipment
- Other related duties and project work, as required

**Basic Qualifications**:

- Grade 12 supplemented with minimum one year of labouring experience, including machinery operation, truck driving, landscaping, construction, and public works
- A valid Class 3 BC driver’s license with air endorsement;
- Experience and training with small equipment related to sewer and water infrastructure such as cut-off saws, drills, grinders, basic hand tools, jackhammer, compactor, pumps
- Sufficient physical strength, stamina and coordination to perform manual work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to follow written and verbal direction and work effectively and communicate respectfully with co-workers and members of the public
