**About Towhee**
Camp Towhee/Towhee Summer Therapeutic Program supports youth with mental health challenges complicated by learning disabilities. Located in Haliburton, Ontario, Towhee creates lasting, positive change for campers and staff. Working at Towhee is a uniquely rewarding and transformative experience. We provide 10 days of comprehensive training covering behaviour management, counselling skills, Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), mental health, and learning disabilities.

**Who we need**
We are hiring an Art, Music, and Camp-Wide Programs (CWP) Supervisor to join our dynamic Camp Towhee team. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Programming, this contract position runs from June 16 to August 21, 2025.
As the Art, Music, and Camp-Wide Programs Supervisor, you will lead and oversee a team responsible for developing and facilitating engaging creative programs that foster self-expression, skill-building, and community engagement for campers. You will provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to staff while ensuring all activities are inclusive, safe, and aligned with the camp’s therapeutic approach.
We are looking for a strong leader and team player with a passion for supporting children and youth, an understanding of the social and emotional impacts of mental health and learning disabilities, and a background in visual arts, music, or program facilitation.
**As our new Art, Music, and Camp-Wide Programs Supervisor, you will**:
- Develop and oversee the creation and delivery of engaging, high-quality programs in arts, music, and camp-wide activities that meet the needs of campers.
- Supervise, mentor, and provide feedback to the Art & Music team, ensuring the programs run smoothly and effectively.
- Lead training sessions for staff, fostering collaboration and professional development.
- Support camp-wide initiatives, including planning and executing themed events and activities that enhance the camp spirit.
- Assist in supervising campers during meals, evening programs, and other daily routines, ensuring a safe and structured environment.
- Uphold and communicate Camp Towhee’s policies, procedures, and best practices, serving as a positive role model for staff and campers.
**You bring**
- Two or more years of post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
- Standard First Aid with CPR-C certification.
- Experience working with children and youth, preferably with populations facing mental health and learning challenges.
- Personal, professional, or educational experience in a related field.
- Previous camp experience, especially in a leadership role (strongly preferred).
- Experience facilitating arts or music-based programming, particularly in a therapeutic setting.
- Experience supervising and supporting staff teams.
- Bronze Cross swimming certification or higher (preferred).
- A current and valid police records check with vulnerable sector screening.
- Ability to work respectfully with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
**Working Conditions**
- Fast-paced camp environment with frequent interaction with campers, staff, supervisors, families, and visitors.
- May require lifting children (up to 45 lbs.), as well as bending, stooping, stretching, squatting, pushing, pulling, sitting, walking, and climbing stairs.
- Potential participation in a 3-4 day canoe trip (or a 10-day trip), involving paddling, portaging, hiking, swimming, carrying equipment, and tent camping.
- Moderate to loud noise levels.
- Frequent physical activity, including standing, walking, running, lifting, and actively engaging with campers and staff in various camp activities and games.
