**Your mission**

Ready to be at the heart of mining operations? As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you play a key role in keeping site activities running smoothly. You’ll be operating various equipment — including wheel loaders, trucks, bulldozers, graders, excavators, and buses — while ensuring proper inspection and safe handling. Your attention to detail, adaptability, and safety-first mindset will make a real impact on the ground.

**Your Day-to-Day**

  • Operate and drive heavy machinery safely and efficiently across the entire site.
  • Use heavy equipment in accordance with operational practices to move minerals, metals, soil, gravel, rocks, debris, and snow.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot machinery as needed.
  • Conduct pre-operation checks, clean, lubricate, and refuel machines.
  • Inspect and check equipment daily, including oil level, tire pressure, and fluid levels.
  • Monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure proper equipment operation, and report any issues to the supervisor when necessary.
  • Assist the heavy equipment mechanic with troubleshooting by following approved procedures.
  • Comply with the company's current environmental standards.
  • Follow on-site traffic rules to prevent accidents involving other equipment or workers.
  • Adhere to the site’s established safety procedures and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as helmets, gloves, and safety glasses.
  • Optimize loader usage based on the tasks at hand, while ensuring effective fuel management and operational efficiency.

**Your qualifications**

  • DEP in heavy equipment operation, construction machinery operation, or forest road maintenance.
  • At least one year of experience operating heavy equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Class 1 and 5 driver’s licenses.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts on a 14/14 FIFO schedule.
  • Experience with other mining equipment (bulldozer, grader, small loader, small excavator, service truck, bus, 10-wheel truck) is an asset.
  • Actively promote values of health and safety, ethics, diversity, and inclusion.
