Under the supervision of the Program Director, Media, the Communications Photographer will photograph or film participants for the various summer programs offered and produce weekly slideshows or other program materials as requested. Working co-operatively with Program Directors and Instructors, the Communications Photographer will engage participants with enthusiasm and energy making photo and video opportunities fun for everyone. The Communications Photographers will also provide instruction and direction to Communications Volunteers.

WHAT IS AMAZING ABOUT THIS JOB:

- Work closely with summer program staff to photograph or film participants and/or produce edited photographs and footage for weekly slideshows and web galleries
- Work cooperatively and participate in program activities where required
- Provide leadership, training and guidance to Communications Volunteers
- Observe and promote all rules and regulations established for the program to include Appleby’s Mutual Respect policy
- Seek assistance and advice from the Director of Summer Media Programs or appointed supervisor and ensure all decisions made have the appropriate approvals
- Participate in all required training related to health and safety and for photography equipment and software

YOU WILL BE A GREAT FIT IF YOU:

- Level 2- have successfully completed secondary school (applicants pursing or having completed a post-secondary education in photography/film considered an asset)
- Level 1 For consideration in Level I should have successfully completed a minimum of Grade 9 and/or be 15 years of age
- Have experience in photography with the energy and enthusiasm to make participants and instructors enjoy being filmed/ photographed
- Possess knowledge and experience with a digital SLR camera and filmmaking
- Can quickly learn graphics software through online and supervised training
- Acquired knowledge of graphics and video-editing software including Lightroom, Premiere, Photoshop, Final Cut, Photodex Proshow and online web galleries (such as SmugMug) considered an asset
- Can work efficiently to meet deadlines
- Be able to communicate effectively
- Have valid Standard First Aid and CPR - C or higher

WORK SCHEDULE
- Training & Pre-Camp
- Friday May 30, 2025-Evening
- Saturday May 31 and Sun June 1, 2025-Full Day
- Saturday June 14, 2025-Full Day
- Sunday June 15, 2025- Full Day
- Camp Session Dates & Hours
- Camp Work: as assigned Monday June 23 to Friday Aug 29 (excluding June 30 and holidays)
- Monday to Friday 8:15am to 4:15pm
- Mandatory Orientation Meeting First day of each Week 7:30am-8:15am
