About the Role: Westlock Intermunicipal Library is a vibrant hub serving the Westlock region with libraries in the communities of Westlock, Jarvie, and Fawcett. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as our Library Manager to act as the key liaison between the Library Board, Staff, and Community, ensuring that library services align with the Plan of Service and meet the evolving needs of our residents.
As Library Manager, you will:
**Provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring the library thrives as a community resource.** Supervise, mentor, and support staff and volunteers in delivering excellent library services.
**Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and professional standards.** Innovate and promote library services, programming, and public engagement initiatives. What You Bring to the Role:
**Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in staff supervision and team development.** Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities to engage with the public, staff, and stakeholders.
**Ability to work collaboratively with the Library Board, municipalities, and community partners.** Adaptability and problem-solving skills to navigate change and enhance library operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
**A Library Technician Diploma or Degree in Library & Information Studies. or** a Business Diploma with a love of books and a drive to learn and grow or a combination of education and experience in the not-for-profit industry.
**Minimum three years’ experience in a supervisory or management role, preferably in a library, municipal or not-for-profit setting.** Knowledge of public library operations, Alberta’s Libraries Act, and relevant regulations.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
