Evolving to meet the needs of our growing business, the primary responsibility for an estimator is to work with project managers and business development teams to ensure the efficient preparation of high quality, timely and accurate estimates. Helping the sales team create a proposal, tracking the costs of a project, understanding customer specifications, and proposing a final budget for a project.

An estimator should have two years of experience working in a oil and gas environment. One of the most important skills that an estimator will have is the critical thinking skills. Another skill is mathematical prowess as the estimator will need to be able to calculate various costs.

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented individual who has knowledge and experience in not only estimating, but also has a broad understanding of project controls.
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Analyze labor, material, and time requirements for a project
- Estimate costs by looking at the entire project
- Present cost estimates to upper management
- Prepare reports detailing all of the costs going into a project
- Input cost data into company database
- Notice differences between estimated cost and actual cost
- Look at customer requirements for a project
- Work with the sales team to prepare proposals
- Ability to work in tight timeframes to generate estimates when needed by the project team and senior management.
- Understanding of all phases of project development and execution.
- Positive attitude and demonstrated ability to overcome obstacles to achieve solutions

**Qualifications / Experience**:

- Relevant experience in the Canadian oil and gas industry
- 2 years of experience working as an estimator
- Ability to create reports on costing data
- Amazing analytical and math skills
- Ability to work well on a team
- Very detail oriented
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite of software tools, including Access, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Projects, etc.

**Salary**: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
