Atlas Engineered Products (AEP) is recruiting for a Junior Customer Service Representative to join our growing team AEP is one of Canada’s fastest growing, publicly traded, supplier of trusses, and engineered wood products, with manufacturing and distribution facilities throughout the country.

The Customer Service Representative is responsible for establishing, and maintaining positive relationships with the customer-base. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role is primarily responsible for: Assisting with the day-to-day phone calls related to smaller projects, sizing beams and small garage packages as required for homeowners, working as support for the sales staff by providing customer support. Developing partnerships with customers to fully understand their needs; assist in planning residential and commercial building projects; act as the expert in the area of engineered wood products and building components, provides total solution recommendations for customers and their specific project needs; communicates customer needs to the design and operations teams; and works with customers to proactively provide solutions to their needs.

Overview of Responsibilities_**

**Relationship-building and Customer Support**:

- Provide superior customer service through proactive customer engagement
- Demonstrate effective communication skills (verbal and written)
- Develop and maintain positive customer relationships, and internal relationships
- Demonstrate the ability to articulate exact customer needs to the technical design team
- Think creatively and independently to resolve incomplete or unclear project requirements
- Resolve errors or omissions within blueprints
- Add value to the customer’s buying experience by making sound recommendations
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to support customer needs and to drive profitable sales growth and increase market share
- Utilize research to aid in strategic sourcing and partnering of clients
- Prospect, acquire, and develop new and potential customer accounts
- Remain current with trends and the needs of customers to increase efficiency, effectiveness and overall profit-growth

**Organization design, development and thinking**:

- Support and uphold AEP’s mission, vision, values and policies.
- Support leaders at all levels of the organization to practice creative, critical and applied thinking
- Build rapport with individuals across AEP representing different perspectives and backgrounds and utilize open and transparent style of communication to ensure relationship building, trust, and teamwork are at the forefront of all interactions.

**Requirements**:

- Highschool Diploma or equivalent. Post-secondary education is an asset
- Ability to read blueprint (Architecture, Structural and Mechanical) an asset
- Ability to understand customer needs and provide exceptional customer service
- Knowledge of framing and construction process
- Understanding of local and national building codes, structural analysis, and structural engineering
- Positive relationship building skills (internal and external)
- Design experience is an asset, or a willingness to learn Design
