Valbruna ASW Inc., the premier specialty steel-making facility located in Welland, ON, has an immediate requirement for the following position:
**PRODUCTION WORKER**

Valbruna ASW Inc. operates a dynamic and versatile facility and has a long and storied history in the steel-making business, with roots in Welland dating back to 1918. Reporting to the Melt Shop Supervisor, some of the Production Worker’s **duties and** **responsibilities **includes some of the following:

- Assembles/disassembles the bottom pour setup.
- Strips ingots when necessary.
- Maintains adequate supply of alloys and operating supplies.
- Shovels, weighs, and adds alloys to molten steel.
- Assists in all phases of furnace operation.
- Takes temperatures and collects samples from molten steel.
- Operates a variety of shop equipment including Forklift and Overhead Cab Cranes.
- Wears the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Performs general housekeeping duties and maintains a clean work area.
- Follows work instructions, SOPs, and adheres to all safety policies and procedures.
- Completes all other duties that are assigned.
- Must possess a High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Demonstrates the ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- At least three years of steel manufacturing experience would be considered an asset.
- Ability and willingness to work shifts, primarily night shifts, as well as overtime as required and to work in lean environment where adaptability, innovation and hard work are valued above all else.
- Reliable, dedicated, and trustworthy.
- Proven ability to learn new things and be flexible in response to changing requirements in a fast-paced environment.
- Superior analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to take initiative and to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong safety track record and demonstrated willingness to participate in workplace safety and ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.

This position pays $24.22 per hour and a shift premium is paid to employees working the afternoon shift ($0.35) and ($0.55) working the night shift.
