**Prep Cook**

As a Prep Cook at The Piping Kettle, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Cook with all of their kitchen duties and supporting the Souper Staff as needed during lunch and dinner rushes.

What Your Day Looks Like
- Stock and prepare veggies, sauces and meats for sandwich stations.
- Maintain a clean kitchen environment.
- Follow food safe procedures
- Work fast paced lunch and dinner rushes.
- Serve soups and salads; preparing sandwiches, salads and smoothies.
- Put orders away.
- Assist the cook with their duties, as required.

**Requirements**:

- Food Handlers Certificate
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work as part of a team and under the direction of the head cook / supervisor.
- Continuous standing/walking for all tasks
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs
- Frequent turning and reaching
- Occasional pushing, pulling and some forward bending.
- Constant use of both hands, with frequent wrist rotation and flexing, occasional forceful gripping

**Souper Staff**
- Welcome each customer and answer questions about the daily menu.
- Serve soups and salads; prepare sandwiches and smoothies.
- Work fast-paced lunch and dinner rushes that make the time fly.
- Maintain high quality standards, cleaning, and restocking.

**Requirements**:

- Food Handlers Certificate
- Have a flexible work schedule.
- Punctual and reliable.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills.
- Work well under pressure.
- Customer service and restaurant experience is preferred.
- Ability to remain standing/walking for all tasks and lift / carry up to 40 lbs.
- Constant use of both hands, with frequent wrist rotation and flexing, occasional forceful gripping

**Salary**: $15.50-$17.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Komoka, ON N0L 1R0: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Cooking (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Food Handler Certification (preferred)

Shift availability:

- Day Shift (preferred)

Work Location: In person
