Black & McDonald's Southern Ontario FMO team is growing If you are a technical and hands-on professional searching for the opportunity to build a solid foundation for your career, this position is for you. **The Maintenance Technician - Electrical (309A)** is located in Greater Toronto Area, ON and typically reports directly to the Senior Operations Manager.

**The Maintenance Technician - Electrical (309A)**
will maintain, upgrade, troubleshoot, and repair all mechanical devices within the grounds to achieve optimum life span of equipment.

The **Maintenance Technician - Electrical (309A)** will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

- Perform all electrical work as per the Statement of Work in the contract such as: troubleshoot, check, inspect, repair, maintain, commission, test, service and operate building electrical systems including related electrical controls, devices and equipment, such as emergency generators and preventative maintenance of critical electrical components
- Maintain or repair any electrical system, conduit or associated cabling or junction box, motors, receptacles, breakers, disconnects, batteries, DC or AC systems
- All electrical associated corrective and preventative maintenance
- Carry out all work according to applicable codes and regulations
- Read and interpret construction and electrical blue prints and drawings
- Diagnose and identify hazards and defects
- Install electrical systems, wires, conduit, switch and junction boxes, circuit breakers etc.
- Perform lock out/tag out duties
- Perform re-lamping and ballast changes
- Work at heights
- Carry out periodic testing of fire alarms and other life safety systems
- Respond to demand/emergency calls
- Minor maintenance and other duties as detailed
- Assist other classifications and trades as required
- Other duties as assigned

**WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**
- At least 2-3 years of electrical maintenance experience

**SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS**
- **309A Electrical License**:

- In-depth knowledge and experience working in critical environment
- In-depth knowledge and experience working on servers, UPS, generator systems and related equipment
- General building equipment maintenance skills
- Basic computer skills
- Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance
- Must be able to work a continental shift pattern
