Litho Press Feeder

Under the direction of the Litho Operations Manager, the Press Feeder performs all relevant duties related to feeding a 40 inch Heidelberg, including assisting the pressman in the general operation and maintenance of the press adhering to TI Group’s standards for quality and performance. Experience is preferred but willing to train

**Job Type: Full Time, hourly/ 40 hrs. per week/Shifts may change based on needs of Company/ Pay Range: $25.00 per hour to $30.00 per hour/ Competitive Benefits**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Preparation of a variety of substrate materials - opening boxes, cartons, packages, skids and properly placing materials into press feeder
- Set up and operate feeder as required
- Mount and register plates
- Fill ink fountains and maintain sufficient ink volumes throughout day
- Fill water tanks and maintain sufficient supply - including regular checking of pH & conductivity
- Liaise with pressman and co-workers to ensure supply of required materials
- Assist Press Operator with routine maintenance
- Wash-up press as required - ink fountains, rollers, back steels etc.
- Keep the press clean and ensure a tidy and safe working area
- Assist pressman by checking printed sheets on a regular basis for defects - including ruling up sheets, checking position on sheet to supplied mylar overlays or impositions, confirming correct backup etc.
- Carefully read and understand work orders and dockets
- Wash up press after job is complete
- Participate on cross-functional teams to ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of processes, methods, productivity and quality, while reducing costs.
- Willingness to work in other departments as required

**Technical Knowledge**:

- 3 - 5 years’ experience feeding sheet-fed presses
- knowledge and experience with presses larger than 42” is an asset
- Understanding of brands and grades of substrates helpful.
- Methodical with good attention to detail and neat working habits
- Good manual dexterity and ability to work to accurate dimensions
- Computer literate
- Physically fit and capable of handling different types of material weighing up to 50 lbs
- Team Worker - must work closely with any pressman on any press assigned to
- Available for unscheduled additional hours of work i.e., overtime
- Organized and responsible with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines
- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

- Being able to resolve issues that are press related. (Problem with stock feeding, side guide issues etc.)
- Having a general understanding of regular mechanical maintenance and press related issues. (Weekly greasing of press, changing filters, etc. as per preventative maintenance schedule or routine.
- Keeping your area clean of debris, garbage, waste bins and stock.
- Getting set-up in a timely manner / Keep the press running / Getting stock ready / Checking Mylar / Checking over-all sheet / Spending time up front looking at sheet, helping change-over / Getting next job ready while current one is running / perform wash-up incl. rollers, fountains, back steels etc. / change plates / assist with coating blanket, washing rollers and fountains.)
- WHMIS Training (may be provided)
- Fork-lift certification (may be provided)
