Ok Koral Services is pleased to provide the opportunity to a safety professional looking to begin a career as a Health and Safety Consultant in a Contractor role. This is an ideal position for someone starting out in consulting by being able to have work to get started and have an income while continuing to build your consulting/contract safety business.
- **Roles and Responsibilities could include**:_
- COR H&S audits through Certifying Partners/ Safety Associations in Alberta that can include MHSA, ACSA, AASP, CCSA, AMHSA.
- Onsite consulting to provide Safety Partnership Services throughout the Edmonton area.
- Development of training programs, power points, HSMS systems
- Leadership development through formal training courses
- Guiding onsite contacts with OHS information relative to Provincial and Federal and industry specific requirement.
- Will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a safe work environment.
- Working with clients to offer HSE service.
- Work with other consultants to support client’s needs.
- Assist with Contractor Management Databases (Avetta, Complyworks, ISNetworld, Site Docs)
- **Training, Skill & Education Requirements**:_
- Formal education/course work in Health and Safety and/or training including a certificate program or diploma, equivalencies will be considered. (Safety Officer designation would be a significant asset (CRSP, CRSP, NCSO, MSO, CHSP))
- Two to five years of health and safety experience, experience in a manufacturing facility would be an asset.
- A working knowledge of the Workplace Health and Safety PIR and COR programs would be an asset and experience would be essential. Auditing active status would be an asset.
- Ability to exercise good judgement and to use discretion.
- Excellent customer service skills and an ability to provide timely service and meet deadlines is critical
- Ability to act in a professional manner and demonstrate honesty and integrity at all times while performing responsibilities
- Strong company proficiency with Microsoft Word, google drive, other programs will also be helpful
- Willing to travel and stay overnight (if necessary and rare) in locations south to Red Deer, East to Lloydminster, North to Grand Prairie. (reasonable expenses will be covered)
Contractor Requirements
Ability to establish a company in Alberta or have an established company registered with CRA for GST.
Obtain liability insurance of $2,000,000.00 for business and vehicle, professional errors and omissions.
Have or ability to obtain WCB coverage in all Provinces work will be conducted.
All equipment and tools to conduct job in a safe manner.
**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract, Casual, Seasonal
Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 - 50 per week
