**Dean**:

- Luther College at the University of Regina is located on Treaty 4 territory, the original homeland of the nêhiyawak, Anihšināpēk, Dakota, Lakota, Nakoda peoples, and Michif/Métis nation. Luther College is a Federated College at the University of Regina and offers degree programs in the Faculties of Arts, Science, and Media, Art and Performance (MAP), and La Cité (French), with excellent pre-professional program options. While completely academically integrated, Federated Colleges are administratively and financially independent from the University. With an enrolment of approximately 600 students, Luther College at the University of Regina is committed to retaining the personal atmosphere, individual attention, and sense of community that ensures students thrive. Luther College provides the highest quality of teaching and fosters outstanding research. It is home to the Nonprofit Voluntary Sector Studies Network (NVSSN), a community-driven network made up of professionals from the nonprofit and voluntary sector, students, faculty members, staff, and campus partners. Luther College also operates a high school campus which shares a Board of Regents, President, and College Leadership Group.

**Description of Duties**

**Responsibilities**
- In consultation with the University of Regina, administering and planning the academic program through the hiring and recruiting of faculty, probationary, sessional, term and others as necessary and within the terms of current College procedures and Board policies; development and administration of hiring procedures; setting of course schedules in consultation with UR department heads and deans; ensuring that teaching requirements specified by the _Tuition Fee_ _Sharing Agreement_ are met; long-range planning of academic programs (e.g. transition program initiatives, learning communities, interdisciplinary classes, etc.); ensuring the academic portion of the College's website is accurate and appropriate; and assisting in the development of special or new academic programs both within the College (e.g. Interdisciplinary Studies, Nonprofit Sector Leadership and Innovation (NSLI), etc.) and in the University community (e.g. Sustainability Certificate, Philosophy, Political Science, Economics (PPE), etc.).
- Supervision of faculty including assignment of duties and performance review; making recommendations to the President regarding tenure, promotion, career growth increments, sabbatical, other leaves, and discipline; attending to student concerns concerning College faculty; advising and working with faculty on issues concerning professional development.
- Supervision of sessional faculty members, including regular teaching observations and evaluations, advertising and hiring, administration of contractual priority and preference, and assignment of office spaces.
- Hiring, supervision and evaluation of other academic employees including direct supervision of Assistant Dean, Registrar, Library Coordinator, and Executive Assistant to the Dean’s Office; and ensuring other employees are also supervised and evaluated fairly; supervising the hiring of student assistants; supervising and supporting the work of the Writing across the Disciplines Coordinator
- Administering and ensuring compliance with the current Luther College/University of Regina Faculty Association (URFA) Collective Agreement.
