Temporary Assignment/Full Time Employment Opportunity **COMPETITION #MLL353/22-23**

Reporting to Shift Supervisor, Facilities. The Maintenance Tradesperson is responsible for maintaining daily operations including maintenance, repair and upkeep of equipment, building systems, components, furnishings and equipment at all Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries locations.

**Duties**:

- Review all service requests for any particular requests that need attention for the day.
- Respond to requests for service, giving priority to urgent issues.
- Complete daily preventative maintenance checklists, including equipment and building logs/ checklists.
- Perform water treatment tests on specified systems, add chemicals, and complete log sheets.
- Conduct daily checks on all building automation systems (BAS), monitor for temperature, RTU’s, and all other operating units to ensure they are running
- Conduct external grounds inspections, including outdoor lighting, fencing, concrete, and asphalt, etc.
- Replace and repair floor tiling, paving stone, and bricks where required.
- Purchase materials as needed within scope of authority.
- Perform high-pressure washing on equipment as required.
- Operate and maintain various building systems, including hot water tanks/boilers, generators, compressor, standpipes, fire panels, environmental cooling.
- Shop cleaning and maintenance as required. Maintain to 5S standards.
- Order parts and suppliers to maintain inventories according to minimum and maximum levels.
- Complete work orders and contact/assist contractors.
- Monitor and perform general troubleshooting of the HVAC system. Conduct general maintenance including filters and belts, breakers, and resets.
- Perform preventative maintenance as assigned.
- Troubleshoot building automation system.
- Maintain parts related inventory and order as needed.
- Check/reset breakers for power issues only (inside and outside building). Reference electrical drawings as required.
- Check and change lighting timers (i.e. daylight savings time).
- Check UPS System (digital panel) and batteries; report any issues or alarms.
- Perform monthly fire safety testing for all sites.
- Check all water tanks, taps, sinks and kitchen appliances to ensure they are in proper working order.
- Check boiler/chiller operations including monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Service all washrooms and ensure toilets and sinks are working properly.
- Perform required maintenance to plumbing, lighting, doors, etc throughout Head office, the Distribution Center and the Winnipeg Liquor Marts
- Check and service sewer lift systems and grease traps.
- Check RTU (i.e. proper drainage and not frozen) and perform any necessary preventative maintenance.
- Check and service hot water tanks and circulating pumps.
- Complete fixture installations, supply, and drain lines.
- Conduct visual check in all areas of the facility (inside & outside) for any damages.
- Maintain, repair, assemble, and disassemble wood/composite future as required (i.e., cabinets, shelves, cupboards, etc.)
- Assess complex building maintenance systems to determine the origin of problems that occur and take necessary next steps according to procedures and within scope of responsibility. Perform maintenance and repairs or execute work as required.
- Policies & procedures, equipment operating manuals, engineering specification manuals, plumbing and electrical schematics, blueprints and operations & maintenance manuals all serve as points of reference and must be adhered to.
- Responsible and accountable for a Purchase Card and adherence to its limit.
- Other related duties as required.

**Primary Qualifications**:

- Completion of a Grade XII High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Certification in Power Engineer Class 5, BOMI-SMT (Systems Maintenance Technician) or formal training in a trade related to building maintenance. Operational requirements may require specific skills or certification.
- A minimum of two years’ experience working in all facets of building operations and maintenance (i.e. plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical, troubleshooting, renovations, etc.).
- Certification in Forklift, Scissor lift and Boom lift, which may be acquired on the job. Must maintain certification.
- Systems training may be required and will be provided on the job.
- Must have and maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License.

**Secondary Qualifications**:

- Bilingual (French/English) language skills.
