Carpenter Apprentice

Centennial Auto Group in Summerside is looking for an organized, skilled and motivated individual to join our Maintenance team._

**NOW HIRING**: Carpenter Apprentice**

**LOCATION**: Centennial Auto Group, Summerside, Prince Edward Island

**HOURS**:Full-time, permanent position. Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, 40 hours per week.

**WAGES**: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour + benefits (negotiable based on experience)

- Ability to understand and follow instructions and communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors
- Knowledge of labels, safety warnings, and guidelines, with commitment to safe work practices
- Strong attention to detail and awareness of safety at all times
- Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams, blueprints, sketches, building plans, and specifications
- Solid working knowledge of job site safety requirements and procedures
- Proficiency in carpentry techniques, tools, and equipment
- Accurate measuring, cutting, and assembly skills
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and handle materials
- Clear and effective communication skills

**JOB TASKS**:

- **Material Handling**:

- Load and unload materials; some heavy lifting required.
- Move materials to designated areas on-site as needed.
- **Carpentry Tasks**:

- Perform various carpentry tasks, including but not limited to framing, finish work, concrete, rebar, sanding, and painting.
- Accurately measure, cut, and shape lumber, wood, and other building materials.
- **Tool and Equipment Usage**:

- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, saws, lifts, and staging.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- **Worksite Safety and Organization**:

- Follow instructions from supervisors and adhere to company safety standards at all times.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including regular site clean-up.
- **General Construction Duties**:

- Assist with general maintenance, repairs, renovations, and new construction projects.
- Perform work efficiently and within the set timelines.
- **Additional Responsibilities**:

- Take on additional duties as assigned by management.
