Veterinary Technician

**Job Summary**We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our non-corporate, Canadian owned practice. In this role, you'll play a vital part in assisting veterinarians to provide top-notch care to our animal patients. Your expertise in lab procedures and animal handling will be key in maintaining the health and well-being of those in our care. If you're passionate about animal health and want to make a meaningful impact from the ground up, as this role has the ability to assist in curating a team, supporting creation of SOP’s and clinic practices - we'd love to have you on board.

This will be a predominately a small animal role but has the option to expand and encompass time in the large animal/equine clinic as well.

**Duties**
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
- Able to manage anesthesia
- Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor animal health and behavior, documenting any changes or concerns.
- Prepare animals for surgery and assist with post-operative care.
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including equipment sterilization.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and health maintenance.

**Skills**
- Completion of an accredited Veterinary Technician program is required.
- Certification or licensure as a Veterinary Technician is desirable.
- Experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is a plus.
- Proficient in laboratory skills and procedures related to veterinary medicine.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine love for animals..

Pay: $23.00-$29.00 per hour
