**About This Opportunity**:
Dartmouth Medical Centre is seeking full-time Family Physicians to join their collaborative practice. This large group practice located in Dartmouth has beautiful views of the Halifax Harbour, and is composed of more than 9 physicians and offers rent subsidized suites. A busy walk-in clinic provides extra shifts for newcomers, if desired.
The compensation structure is fee for service and the clinic uses an EMR system, Accuro Medical Software.
Depending on your professional interests, physicians may shape their practice to include: inpatient care, nursing home care, hospitalist work, ER coverage, surgical assists to name a few services available to participate.
**Responsibilities**:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures; advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
- Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners’
- Act as a patient’s advocate
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations
- Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements
**Qualifications**:
- Eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
