**GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY**:
Reporting directly to the Machine Shop Supervisor, the CNC Machinist - Team Leader will operate the assigned CNC machine(s) including mills, lathes, and drill presses. They will provide team leadership to the Machine Shop process as well as coaching, training, and supervising all employees within the assigned areas and machines within the Machine Shop.

**Key Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities**:
**Level 1 includes the following**:

- Operate various CNC machines as directed by the Supervisor/Manager
- Read drawings, use precision gauges and measurement instruments, and use machine shop tools
- Efficiently produce parts to required tolerances and adjust tool offsets
- Deburr machined parts as required
- Follow quality control practices in an ISO environment
- Wear personal safety equipment as required
- Maintain 5S practices
- Record keeping as directed by the Manager/Supervisor
- Daily and weekly maintenance and housekeeping as required
- Any other duties as assigned by the Manager/Supervisor

**Level 2 (includes Level 1 plus the following)**:

- Ability to independently set up CNC machinery
- Program editing skills

**Level 3 (includes Level 1 and 2 plus the following)**:

- Full programing ability
- Problem solving skills
- Proficiency in manufacturing custom parts

**Team Leader (includes minimum Levels 1-3 plus the following)**:

- Follow the Romet Quality Assurance System
- Notify appropriate management of any production/quality/safety problem issues
- Make sure work orders are being completed and scrap is reported
- Monitor workload of each workstation to prevent over/under load conditions
- Check work center production quantities daily
- Schedule production items for outside processing as required
- Transfer machined parts to anodizing and transfer parts to and from storage cage when required
- Ensure efficient transfer of machined parts to other departments as necessary
- Supervise production staff in ISO environment
- Order machine shop hand tools, cutting tools by reviewing catalogues, filling out requisition
- Monitor safe working conditions
- Maintain proper inventory/part levels and update as necessary
- Ensure proper training of new employees and assist employees with job related problems
- Troubleshoot machines before calling outside maintenance
- Communicate with other departments to ensure scheduled delivery of our product
- Making sure all machines are running and running efficiently
- Follow up on jobs to make sure they get completed on time
- Make sure operators are making quality checks on products being produced
- Quantities on work orders are followed
- Highlight any potential material shortages
- Make sure material flows through the area efficiently
