**Packer**

Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, the Packer performs duties related to packing and re-packing of products while verifying that the products meet the company’s quality standards.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery
- Ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency
- Ensure outputs meet production schedules, safety and quality standards
- Ensure proper use of required Personal Protective Equipment at all times
- Follow manufacturing and processing procedures, carry out production and inspection processes
- Mark, record, and report defective products
- Maintain a clean working area free from dirt and debris between tasks and at end of day
- Closely monitor machines for signs of problems while ensuring output is meeting set specifications
- Setup the film and packaging equipment
- Assist the operator when required
- Remove completed products from conveyors and manually pack good into bags, boxes or other containers
- Communicate with lead hand, supervisor engineers, production control, quality and other shop personnel to resolve equipment or quality issues
- Additional duties as required

**Work Conditions**
- Ability to perform repetitive and heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds)
- Must be able to read, write, and understand printed material
- Use of required personal protective equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail
- Extended periods of standing, and other physically demanding conditions
- Lifting, moving or manipulating objects
- Ability to meet consistent attendance

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience an asset
- Work well independently and in a team setting
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to perform strenuous physical labour
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $18.21 per hour
