**The Production Planner position.**
Reporting to Corporate Primary Pork Optimization Manager you will be responsible for the day to day production scheduling of Donald's Fine Foods across three manufacturing plants. The incumbent will ensure smooth operations throughout the production and distribution life of our product by creating accurate production planning to meet the sales forecast, ensuring inventory information and levels are accurate and at the optimum rates while working closely with production management to continually improve the efficiency by analyzing data to determine future needs.
**Responsibilities**:
- Work in close communication with domestic and export sales departments to build accurate sales forecast
- Ensures daily entries into production control system are accurate
- Works in collaboration with Plant Managers to establish reasonable inventory levels in order to meet customer demands
- Monitors finished goods inventory daily and keeps sales departments informed of changes
- Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, raw materials, tools, and labour requirements
- Generates daily production quantity in production control
- Communicate with Plant Managers for special production requests
- Set up lead time for special order production
- Improve existing production control system
- Create standard production planning process
- Generate accurate and timely production reports for management including the executive team
- Generate purchase orders or sales orders when required
**Requirements**:
- Passion to learn, inspire, and lead
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - written/ verbal
- Bachelor of Business or equivalent
- Superb organizational skills with the ability to multitask and a keen eye for detail
- Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) is an asset
- Minimum 3 years experience in a production planning role within a manufacturing environment
- Computer skills using Microsoft Office especially Excel VLookup and Macro
- Will be expected to travel as needed to company subsidiaries, as well as to business partners to conduct due diligence
- Ability to add value as an individual contributor and an active team member
- Ability to build rapport quickly with key members of the executive team.
- Demonstrated ability to react to situations with a strong sense of urgency
