**Job Description**:
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority ( Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the manager or designate, the Early Intervention Program Clerk provides secretarial support to the program including determining appointment priority, scheduling, and booking out-patient appointments for clinical staff. The clerk also monitors and reviews the current developmental screening/monitoring tool utilized within the program. The Early Intervention Program Clerk also receives and forwards calls and information, utilizing a switchboard, public address and related communications systems.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:
Grade 12 and two year's recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

**Skills And Abilities**:

- Ability to keyboard at 45 wpm.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
