Framatome is seeking a Canadian lawyer to join the North America legal team. The position will be based in Framatome's Pickering, Ontario office.

**What You’ve Accomplished**

You have completed a Law Degree from an accredited law school. You have at least 6 years of experience in a law firm or corporate environment. You must have passed the appropriate provincial bar exam and be licensed to practice law. You are ready to join Framatome and help deliver clean, safe energy and advance nuclear technology.

- Proven capability to negotiate terms and conditions while minimizing risks to the company
- Demonstrate advanced legal knowledge and counsel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well with all levels of internal and external staff, management, and customers
- Demonstrate willingness and ability to expand duties and responsibilities
- Experience in contract, M&A/joint venture, intellectual property and business transactional is preferred
- Experience with the energy industry, Canadian export regulations, employment and labor law, and/or Indigenous Law are a plus

**Your Opportunity**

This full-time role is about making an impact on people’s lives and the future of clean energy. Handle matters related to corporate governance, commercial contracts, M&A and joint venture transactions, employment and labour law matters, and compliance issues. Review and negotiate service agreements and NDAs as business requires. Lead legal input for the business of Framatome Canada Ltd., including through its interests in joint ventures. Your primary responsibilities will include:

- Provide legal counsel on terms and conditions for proposals, sales and procurement contracts, ensuring compliance with company standards and government regulations.
- Provide legal and strategic advice on matters related to human resources, labor and employment laws, and export control laws.
- Provide legal and strategic advice on Canadian joint ventures.
- Act as Canadian export control officer for Framatome Canada
- Maintain corporate books and records for Canadian entities.
- Advise on changes in Canadian law and regulations.
- Review, draft and negotiate contract documents
- Advise management on a variety of legal matters (HR, labor and employment, export control, joint ventures)
- Maintain corporate books and records

This position requires occasional/sporadic travel.
