**Job Summary**
**What is the opportunity?**
The RBC Global Asset Management (GAM) Responsible Investment (RI) team works to help integrate material environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations more formally into the investment process. The RI team oversees and contributes to activities at RBC GAM related to corporate governance and responsible investing, including ESG integration, client reporting, proxy voting, engagement, and ESG thought pieces and presentations.
**Please Note: This is an opportunity for at least 1 year in length.**
**What will you do?**
- Work with fellow analysts, conduct analysis and execute proxy voting activities for RBC GAM funds and client accounts
- Assist investment teams with the integration of ESG considerations into the RBC GAM investment process and active stewardship activities (proxy voting and engagement)
- Contribute to reporting requirements consistent with RBC GAM’s responsible investment commitments
- Respond to client inquiries on responsible investment and contribute to client reporting initiatives
- Engage with companies and issuers on material ESG factors, as needed
**What do you need to succeed?**
**Must Have**
- 2-5 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of ESG issues and proxy voting, with a good understanding of financial markets and responsible investment
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience working effectively in teams, while taking ownership of individual projects
**Nice to Have**
- Experience in proxy voting analysis and execution
- CFA charterholder or pursuing the CFA charter designation
- Experience with Python and/or R and/or Matlab and/or Database development experience (SQL Server) and knowledge in data analytics
- Experience with ESG data and services such as ISS, Glass Lewis, MSCI and/or Sustainalytics
