**As a Data Scientist you will**:

- Develop a deep understanding of consumer shopping journeys and the primary drivers of a well
- functioning used car marketplace
- Collaborate with a talented team of product managers, analysts and engineers to develop various machine learning models that help deliver a great search experience for used car shoppers
- Work closely with engineers to deploy and maintain models in a production environment
- Work closely with product managers and analysts to design and conduct A/B tests to measure business outcomes with statistical significance
- Uncover insights from analyzing behavioral data and contribute feature ideas that can improve consumer search experience
- Champion the modeling and data requirements necessary to execute the product roadmap effectively
- Develop and maintain QA and reporting processes to ensure proper functioning of deployed models

**To be considered for this role, you will need**:

- 3+ years as a data scientist/ data analyst in a non-academic setting, preferably in a consumer products company.
- S or PhD in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research etc.
- Programming experience in R
- Experience with a broad range of supervised and unsupervised statistical learning techniques
- Experience using SQL to query large relational databases (Oracle, Redshift etc.)
- Excellent communication skills - should be able to communicate technical concepts in a clear and concise manner to various stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise
- Pragmatic approach to solving problems - achieves goals by making incremental improvements and tracking progress over time
- Strong collaboration with a diverse group of business and technical experts in a tightly knit team setting

**Nice to Have, but not required**:

- Experience designing experiments and analyzing outcomes to ensure statistical significance
- Experience working with data stored in the Hadoop ecosystem (Spark and/or Hive)
- Experience with software engineering best practices - version control (Git), unit testing etc.
