Reporting to the Director of User Support Services, the Manager, AV Services, will be responsible for the operations and support of AV Services to students, faculty and staff in alignment with the business objectives of Durham College and Ontario Tech University. The Manager will work closely with the Director to plan for and maintain a cost effective, high performance and reliable AV infrastructure across the organization. The Manager manages nine AV support staff across multiple campuses, to ensure that the highest levels of service are provided. In addition, the role will also define, design and ensure implementation of AV technology to new organizational renovations/installations. This includes provisioning, operating, maintaining, distributing, installing, configuring, repairing, and upgrading various AV products while ensuring their optimal performance.
The Manager, AV Services will also need to develop and maintain budgets and vendor relationships for equipment and service procurement. The manager is adept at fostering and maintaining collaborative relationships across a diverse set of AV services’ stakeholders. The incumbent will manage projects (quotes, RFP, etc.) to select products and vendors, and will negotiate contracts with vendors for the acquisition of goods and services. Administrative duties of the Manager, AV Services include hiring and managing full-time staff, part-time staff and work-study students. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing delivery of AV requirements of capital projects by AV staff or contractors, to ensure accurate and on time completion.
