**HEAD CARETAKER**-**St. Basil Catholic Education Centre**

We are looking to hire a continuous 40.0 hour per week Head Caretaker to work primarily at St. Basil Catholic Education Centre in Lethbridge, with flexibility to work at other schools within our Division. This assignment is to commence July 2, 2025. This position is covered by the CUPE 290 collective agreement.

**The Individual**

You are a strong advocate for youth and their success in learning. You demonstrate by interest, lifestyle, and growth involvement within a Christ-centered working environment. Your participation within the Catholic faith is considered to be an asset.

The Head Caretaker is responsible for providing and maintaining a safe and clean environment for their building and its community. The Head Caretaker demonstrates a thorough working knowledge of cleaning and general maintenance. The work may require strenuous physical effort to complete all duties. The Head Caretaker must be able to complete all work tasks to a high degree of satisfaction. When working at a school, the Head Caretaker supervises and trains Caretakers.

**EDUCATION**:**
- High School Diploma;
- ABSA Class 5 Power Engineer (above or equivalent);
- First Aid certificate;
- WHMIS certificate;
- Hydraulic Ladder Training (Mobile Aerial Work Platform);
- Confined Space Entry and Rescue Training;
- Fall Protection Training;
- Ladder Safety Training.

**WORK EXPERIENCE**:**
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Caretaker.

**TECHNICAL SKILLS (basic knowledge of)**:

- Commercial cleaning equipment and chemicals;
- Fire extinguisher use.

**INTERPERSONAL SKILLS**:**
- Effective communication skills;
- Mechanical aptitude;
- Effective supervisory and leadership skills;
- Strong self-directed initiative;
- Takes charge of assigned tasks;
- Requires mínimal supervision.
