Resident Support Worker

Term Full Time

RHSC is a 39-bed long term care facility

**Job Summary**:
The Resident Support Worker supports residents living in long term care. Key responsibilities may include:

- Providing meal assistance
- Assisting residents to/from/during scheduled activities
- One on one resident support
- Support residents in organizing and managing their personal belongings (assisting residents as requested)
- Assist residents with devices (cell phones/ tablets)
- Facilitate Facetime calls / visits with family
- Provide companionship to residents
- Escort residents to and from hair salon
- Assisting in set up of resident activities and programs
- Participate in care team meetings as appropriate
- Other duties as required

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum Grade 10 requirement.
- Minimum Eighteen (18) years of age.
- Must demonstrate good written and oral communication skills.
- Must be comfortable working with seniors with varying levels of abilities.
- Experience working with seniors with dementias an asset.
- Experience in maintaining a clean environment.
- Able to attend work on a regular and consistent basis.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and on a team.
- Current clean criminal record and vulnerable sector checks.
- Ability to work shift work.

**Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities**: Attention to detail; Lift and carry using appropriate lifting techniques; Bend, push, pull, grip, reach, kneel, crouch using good body mechanics; Walk, sit, stand, hand movements. Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

**Wage Range**:$15.00/hour after probationary period $15.50/hr

**Rotation**:Days/Evening/ Weekends shifts

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: From $15.00 per hour

- New Germany, NS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
