Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team at a Used Furniture store as a Cleaner and Sales Associate. The primary responsibilities of this role will be to maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store, as well as provide exceptional customer service and support sales activities. The Cleaner and Sales Associate will play a critical role in creating a positive shopping experience for our customers, while contributing to the overall success of the store.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of the store at all times, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing various areas, such as the sales floor, fitting rooms, restrooms, and break room.
- Maintain organized and visually appealing displays by arranging merchandise and replenishing stock as needed.
- Provide friendly and knowledgeable customer service, assisting customers with inquiries, locating items, and processing transactions using the cash register or POS system.
- Follow store policies and procedures, including pricing, tagging, and sorting donations, as well as rotating inventory and conducting regular store opening and closing tasks.
- Assist with store merchandising, including setting up displays, changing window displays, and participating in special promotions or events. Collaborate with team members to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for customers and staff, reporting any safety hazards, incidents, or concerns to management.
- Actively contribute to achieving store sales goals by providing product information, suggesting upsells or cross-sells, and engaging in effective sales techniques.
- Assist with donation intake and processing, including sorting, pricing, and stocking donated items, as well as maintaining accurate records of donations received. Perform other duties as assigned by the store manager or supervisor.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in retail or customer service is preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize tasks effectively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management. Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift, and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) for extended periods of time.

- Thunder Bay, ON P7C 3G7: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
