Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Trailer Maintenance Technician with at least 2 years of experience to join our team. As a Trailer Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet of trailers. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct regular inspections, perform repairs, and execute preventative maintenance measures to keep our trailers in optimal condition.
**Responsibilities**:
1. Conduct Routine Inspections: Inspect trailers regularly to identify mechanical, electrical, and structural issues, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
2. Repair and Maintenance: Perform necessary repairs and maintenance tasks on trailers, including brake systems, suspension, tires, lights, electrical components, and other mechanical systems.
3. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues, utilizing technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
4. Preventative Maintenance: Develop and follow a comprehensive preventative maintenance schedule, conducting routine checks and servicing to prevent breakdowns and extend trailer lifespan.
5. Record Keeping with Smart Service: Utilize iPads and Smart Service technology for accurate record keeping of all inspections, repairs, and maintenance performed, documenting the details of work completed and any replacement parts used.
6. Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety protocols and industry standards, promoting a safe work environment for yourself and colleagues.
7. Equipment Upgrades: Recommend and implement equipment upgrades or modifications to improve trailer performance, efficiency, and safety.
8. Communication: Collaborate effectively with team members and management, providing status updates, sharing findings, and coordinating maintenance schedules.
9. Tools and Equipment: Properly handle and maintain tools, equipment, and machinery used in the maintenance process, ensuring they are in good working condition.
Qualifications:
1. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of 2 years of experience in trailer maintenance or a related field is essential.
2. Technical Skills: Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Familiarity with various tools and equipment used in trailer maintenance.
3. Attention to Detail: Meticulous in conducting inspections and identifying potential issues, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
4. Problem-Solving Abilities: Capable of analyzing problems, identifying solutions, and implementing effective repairs.
5. Safety-Conscious: Strong knowledge of safety regulations and protocols related to trailer maintenance and repair.
