Unionville, Canada Cohesion Physiotherapy Full time

Cohesion has a strong focus on movement science, integrating a kinesiology-driven physiotherapy approach that enhances movement, prevents injuries, and promotes long-term well-being - without relying on modality machines. As part of our expansion, we are introducing Functional Movement & Group Exercise classes led by kinesiologists. These classes aim to provide patients with evidence-based kinesiology techniques to improve functional fitness. Led by Kinesiologists - Functional Movement & Group Exercise Instructors, these sessions are distinct from physiotherapy treatments and focus on using evidence-based biomechanics to improve overall fitness, strength, mobility, and movement efficiency.

Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Kinesiologist - Functional Movement & Group Exercise Instructor to lead group functional movement classes. In this role, you will help bridge the gap between rehabilitation and long-term fitness by guiding patients and clients through structured, movement-based programs tailored to their needs. This position is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of biomechanics, injury prevention, and movement optimization - who is eager to contribute to an evidence-based, biomechanical approach to therapy, fitness, and long-term health.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and lead functional movement and group exercise classes tailored to different populations and fitness levels (e.g., rehab transition, injury prevention, active aging, balance and coordination, athletic performance).
- Develop evidence-based exercise programs that align with Cohesion's kinesiology-driven treatment approach.
- Educate patients and clients on proper movement mechanics, biomechanics principles, and strategies to maximize performance and prevent injuries.
- Collaborate with physiotherapists to create seamless treatment-to-fitness pathways for patients.
- Monitor progress and adjust programming based on patient outcomes.
- Maintain a positive, motivating, and inclusive environment for participants.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology or Exercise Science.
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario.
- Experience and certification in functional training, rehab-based exercise, or strength & conditioning is preferred.
- Strong understanding of movement mechanics, biomechanics principles, injury prevention, and movement correction.
- Excellent communication and motivational skills.
- Passion for helping people move better and commitment to long-term patient success.

Why Join Cohesion?
- Competitive Compensation: Competitive base pay starting at $25 per hour, with additional performance-based incentives based on class participation and engagement.
- Professional Growth: Receive exclusive hands-on training in our movement-based exercise and fitness approach.
- Collaborative Environment: Work alongside experienced physiotherapists in a dynamic, forward-thinking team.
- Career Growth: Opportunities to lead larger group sessions, develop specialized programs, advance to senior roles, or contribute to new clinic locations.
- Make an Impact: Help people move better, prevent injuries, and improve their overall quality of life beyond rehabilitation.
