Systems Analyst, Data Warehouse

The Systems Analyst - Data Warehouse works as part of the Application, Integration and Development team to provide project development and operational support services across the entire region. Functionally, this is a hybrid role that performs Analysis-Programming-Database and Data Modelling services. The Analyst level typically works under the direct guidance of the Database Architect, for work task definition and prioritization.

Senior Roles participate in the development of the overall information management strategy and play a key role in stakeholder engagement across the entire Erie St. Clair region. Senior roles are expected to provide leadership assistance to the management team in the following areas:

- Subject matter expertise to assist in definition of work assignments, system configuration, development of standards and issues investigation/escalation.
- Work stream leadership on major projects / or associate PM on small to medium complexity initiatives.
- Acting as MRP (most responsible person) for assigned functional areas / assists and supports Account Managers on new requests/investigations.
- Coaching and mentoring of supporting staff.

**WHAT YOU’LL DO**:

- Performs development services as required for major and minor projects following standard development lifecycle methodologies (ex, preparation of clearly articulated requirements documents), under the general guidance of management or senior staff.
- Create documentation that includes intermediate to complex diagrams (swim lane diagrams, flowcharts, process flow diagrams).
- Troubleshooting data gaps or anomalies with SMEs (Subject Matter Experts).
- Work with Database Architect to design, model and implement solutions. Includes creation of appropriate documentation while obtaining customer signoff and approvals.
- Participate and contribute to meetings, workshops and design sessions.
- Store and provision data securely in our Data Warehouse, following established standards and best practices.
- Participates in the investigation and technical recommendations for assigned areas of responsibility
- Shared responsibility for technology change management as an ad-hoc member of the Change Advisory Board (CAB)
- Responsible for work assignments prioritization, scheduling, and issues management for assigned technologies
- Shared responsibility for the upkeep and safeguarding of production systems in partnership with the Service team.
- Responsible for delivery of assigned project roles (ex, Work-Stream member)
- Other duties as assigned

For Senior Roles additionally:

- Leads the investigation and recommendation of development proposals within a regional context (including development of written proposals, participation in RFP’s, investigation of options/alternatives) for assigned areas of responsibility (ex, Integration, Interfacing, Database Management, Master Data Management, Business Intelligence, Report Development, Custom Solution Development).
- Leads development service activities on major projects, including where applicable managing project resources and work activities for assigned work-streams in accordance with regional project management methodologies.
- Mentors supporting staff and provides training and work activity review as necessary.
- Works as part of a regional Change Advisory Board (CAB) to review and approve all technical change requests in accordance with regional policies and procedures.
- Works as part of a regional support team to resolve production critical issues (provide 2nd & 3rd level support) in conjunction with the Regional Service Model/SLA’s - including scheduled and unscheduled activities after hours as required.

**MUST- HAVES**:

- Three (3) year University Degree or Community College diploma in Information Technology
- Minimum two to four (2-4) years of experience in supporting technology solutions in an IT development environment.
- For Senior Role, minimum four to six (4-6) years of experience in supporting technology solutions in an IT development environment.
- Knowledge of database development and tabular modelling
- Intermediate T-SQL query development (Microsoft SQL, Oracle)
- Scripting/programming languages (C#, JavaScript/JSON, Powershell)
- Experience with Microsoft SSIS, SSAS
