Plant Supervisor

**Job Summary**:
**Royal Containers Ltd**., a leader within the corrugated industry is looking to hire a Production Supervisor for our growing St. Thomas facility. You will work as a front line leader alongside our production team and act as a mentor, driven by helping those around you to be successful.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Plan and assign daily tasks to area employees to achieve the daily schedule and departmental goals, while maximizing production efficiency.
- Ensure customer orders are completed efficiently, correctly, and on time.
- Collaborate with all departments daily to assess needs that support current and future production.
- Train, motivate, monitor and evaluate performance of staff, ensuring their ability to safely perform their functions; take disciplinary actions as required.
- Create and report prescribed Metrics daily, weekly and report to Plant Manager
- Identify and proactively raise productivity issues and trends; recommend alternatives for improved performance.
- Actively participate in process improvement projects to achieve cost savings in labour and materials.
- Promote positive employee relations, communication and teamwork across all shifts and levels.
- Ensure compliance with Company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, health & safety, inventory management, and company employment policies to ensure compliance with provincial and federal regulations.
- Lead NCR investigations and root cause analysis.
- Perform other duties as required.

**Education and Experience**
- Minimum of five (5) or more years of manufacturing supervision or management, with a demonstrated ability to lead people.
- Demonstrated experience in lean manufacturing techniques and process improvement;
- Experience with work planning and production scheduling;
- Very good project management skills;
- Working knowledge of corrugated manufacturing equipment is an asset

- Be flexible to cover colleagues’ shifts during vacations, absences (as necessary).

**Physical Demands and Working Conditions**:

- Manufacturing/industrial environment; some dust and noise;
- Ability to stand and walk daily through manufacturing facility (150,000 sq ft)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $55,000.00-$75,000.00 per year

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

- St Thomas, ON N5P 3Z5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Supervising: 5 years (preferred)
