**_ The Opportunity: _**

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Building Operator, Level 3 is an entry or junior level building operator responsible for operational and technical support. The primary responsibility is to ensure that the assigned building or complex of buildings is being managed and maintained in a safe and environmentally responsible manner and to the highest level of operational efficiency.

What You Will Do: _**
- Monitor sub contractors to ensure that daily duties are being performed in accordance with the schedules included in the service agreements.
- Monitor daily security logs and follow up on any related items.
- monitoring, repairing and maintaining climate control and other mechanical systems within a building
- performing minor repairs as required, (drywall, tiles, paint, etc.); the required tasks of the position will be handled either personally or by way of contracted services
- overseeing preventative maintenance and unscheduled repairs of HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, lighting, electrical, elevating devices, roofing and life safety systems;
- general maintenance, including housekeeping such as sweeping, litter pick up, shoveling and pressure washing;
- assisting with environmental assessments and reporting;
- participating in corporate occupational health and safety program;
- assisting with waste, recycling and hazardous materials issues;
- monitoring of computerized control systems; cctv access control, BMS, and lighting controls
- responding to tenant service requests;
- assisting with insurance and risk management inspections, remedial actions and reporting;
- remaining current and up to date with new industry practices, legislative changes and new technologies;

- Consider sustainability when evaluating options for replacement equipment

Who You Are: _**
- 4th or 5th Class Power Engineer (or equivalent) or working towards or a Journeyman Certification
- 1 year of direct work experience holding a junior or intermediate position in building operations an asset but not a requirement
- a valid driver’s license
- entry level skills in Microsoft Office.
- experience with hand tools and small power tools an asset
