**About the Role**:
This is a fulltime role reports to the Sanitation and Janitorial Supervisor and works on our afternoon shift (2:00 pm - 10:30 pm), Monday to Friday. The Sanitation Worker is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the premises inside and the grounds outside the building. The successful applicant will provide janitorial and housekeeping duties in the offices. They will also assist with the sanitation of different areas and stocking supplies in the production area. The Sanitation Worker will ensure all work performed adheres to all organizational GMP, HAACP and safety standards. This is a physical labour-intensive position requiring individuals to perform repetitive tasks and stand for long periods of time.

Primary duties include:

- Sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning and disinfecting all surfaces,
- Cleaning walls, ceilings, and windows as required
- Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the washrooms and common areas
- Re-stocking supplies in the washrooms and lunch rooms as required
- Emptying various large bins throughout the production plant, including garbage, production waste, and recycling
- Operating trash compactor and cardboard baler
- Garbage pick-up on the outside property surrounding the facility
- Washing of buckets and tools from the production lines
- Operating industrial dishwasher and other sanitation equipment
- Attending to deep cleaning and sterilization of all floor drains
- Attending to deep cleaning and sterilization of food equipment and floors in the food/production areas
- Being on alert and ready to assist the production team if any situations arise where immediate attention is required
- Other related duties that may be assigned by management from time to time.

**About You**:

- At least 1 year of experience working in a food manufacturing environment in a sanitation or other related position
- Knowledge of chemicals and workplace hazardous materials information system (WHMIS) - we provide training
- Experience using various sanitation equipment
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a diverse working environment
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and prioritize tasks with mínimal supervision
- Ability to stand, bend, and reach for long periods of time and able to lift up to 20 kg
- A real team player who enjoys working with others
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- A base line or better verbal and written English skills
