The South Fish Creek Recreation Association (SFCRA) is a not-for-profit organization that operates Cardel Rec South; a very busy community recreation facility. We are proud to offer our community four ice arenas, gymnasiums, eight multi-purpose rental/program rooms, and a variety of recreation programs. In addition, we have numerous tenants whose services complement our mandate.

We are proud to be an equal Partner in the delivery of services and operations of the South Fish Creek Complex, a multi-partner recreation, education and library complex located under one roof in the Shawnessy Towne Centre.

The SFCRA is seeking dynamic team player to fulfill the roll of Hockey Instructor for Wednesdays (3:45 - 7:00PM)

**Specific accountabilities will include**:

- Provide leadership, supervision and instruction to participants both on and off the ice focusing on fundamental skill development at all levels of hockey.
- Ensure safety and encouragement for all participants
- Motivate students by providing a positive, safe and fun learning environment in our hockey lessons
- Assess and evaluate participants’ skating skills and to write constructive progress cards.
- Communicate with parents on child’s development and progression in lessons
- Knowledge of hockey skating instruction techniques and skill progressions
- Providing support to all team members as well as excellent customer service and communication skills

**Qualifications required**:

- Current Standard First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
- Proficient skating ability and able to demonstrate and instruct skating skills
- Ability to lead a group
- Experience in ice sports (Hockey, Ringette, Figure Skating, and Speed Skating) required
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours (evenings & weekends)
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Able to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Clean Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector
- Ability to read, write, and professionally communicate with public and co-workers.

**Hours of Work : Must be available for the following time slot.**
- Wednesdays 3:45am - 7:00pm

Potential other shifts include Sundays 11:45pm - 2pm (Fill in or coverage)
