**Job Overview**
**Duties**
- Operate commercial vehicles to transport freight to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of freight.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents during transport.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
- Perform minor automotive repairs as needed to ensure vehicle reliability.
- Operate heavy equipment or forklifts when required for loading or unloading cargo.
**Experience**
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License).
- Familiarity with automotive repair is a plus, enabling quick troubleshooting of vehicle issues.
- Experience in heavy equipment operation is beneficial for handling various types of freight.
- Previous experience operating forklifts is advantageous for efficient loading and unloading processes.
- A strong understanding of freight handling procedures and logistics operations is preferred.
