Position Summary
This dual role is responsibility for providing Inside Sales support as well as covering Purchasing for the location. Developing and maintaining positive relationships with customers as well as sourcing material under the guidance of the Operations and Inventory Managers will be key to this role. The Inside Sales/Purchaser plays a fundamental role in achieving ambitious revenue growth objectives through their ability to drive ancillary sales and ensure product availability. Together with other team members, we expect this role to independently strive to deliver excellent service to internal and external partners and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and purchase goods, materials, and services supporting Operations
- Create and manage purchase orders, track shipments
- Receive and accurately process customer orders
- Work with the Inventory Manager and warehouse teams to manage sufficient stock levels
- Provide feedback to Inventory Manager on Supplier performance
- Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and regulations
- Find opportunities to reduce purchasing costs without disrupting quality and delivery standards
- Handle customer complaints and order discrepancies
- Build strong customer relationships
- Maintain accurate and organized records of orders and related documentation
- Increase sales volumes through customer interactions and product knowledge
- Maintain communication with Shipping to ensure delivery schedules and instructions are met
- Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications
- Experience in supply chain management, logistics or business administration an asset
- Previous purchasing and procurement experience
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., ERP systems)
- Minimum 2 years Sales and Customer Service experience
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
- Previous building material industry experience an asset
- Effective communication, interpersonal and relationship skills
