**Position Summary**
The Surgical Unit - 4th Floor is currently seeking a Permanent Part-time Ward Clerk to join their team.
Effective Date: June 06, 2025
**Department/Unit/Program Description**
The 4th floor Surgical Unit is comprised of both medical and surgical patients which have various complexities such as CHF, COPD, bowel obstructions to general medicine cases. The surgical cases range from orthopedics, general surgery, eye, women’s health and urology.
**Essential Qualifications**
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of Medical Ward Clerk course or Medical Office Assistant Certificate
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Data Entry
- Minimum of 1 year clerical support experience
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and team building skills
- Demonstrated ability to deal effectively and courteously with all levels of hospital staff, patients and public
- Excellent professional telephone manner skills
- Demonstrated organizational, communication and time management skills
- Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Previous experience in a hospital environment, an asset
**Hours of Work**
Must be available to work eight (8) hour shifts Monday to Sunday. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.
