**Position Overview**:
Are you an experienced Lead Educator with aspirations of growing into a supervisory role? This is your opportunity to shine and make a difference We are seeking a passionate and skilled professional to lead a large (24-capacity) licensed 3-5 group child care room. As a Lead Educator, you will work closely with the supervisor and manager. You will inspire your team, nurture positive relationships with children and families, and contribute to the smooth operation of the program.
This is a **full-time position** based in **South Surrey**, requiring **40 hours per week**. Applicants must have availability between **7:00 am and 6:00 pm**, working a **9-hour shift** with a **1-hour unpaid break** each day.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Lead a team of educators to deliver exceptional care and education in a 24-capacity licensed child care room.
- Manage daily operations, ensuring adherence to licensing requirements and organizational policies.
- Utilize parent apps effectively to communicate, track attendance, and document children's progress.
- Demonstrate strong guiding and caring practices, with a focus on positive behaviour management and addressing challenging behaviours constructively.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with children, families, and team members.
- Collaborate with the Supervisor and team to implement inviting activities for the children
- Foster a professional, inclusive, and supportive team environment.
- Maintain excellent written and verbal communication with families and staff.
- Embrace and align with a **play-based philosophy** that provides a balance of calming and stimulating activities, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Exhibit strong attendance, reliability, and a commitment to professional growth.
**Qualifications**:
- **Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate** required; IT/SN or Class 4 Bus License is an asset.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Lead Educator in a large licensed 3-5 child care setting in BC (24-capacity group).
- Proven leadership abilities, with a passion for mentoring and developing others.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills, including experience with parent communication apps and record-keeping.
- Experience and passion for putting on special events within the classroom
- Exceptional guiding and caring skills, with comfort in managing challenging behaviours.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of the importance of relationships and connection in child care settings.
- Consistent attendance and reliability.
- A desire to grow professionally and step into a supervisory role in the future.
**Compensation and Benefits**:
- Starting wage of **$23/hour** plus wage enhancement, dependent on certification level and experience.
